SKY NANI Return to Taipei for Fan Meeting, Surprise NANI with a My Melody Birthday Cake

SKY (Wongravi Nateetorn) and NANI (Hirunkit Changkham), stars of the popular Thai dramas High School Frenemy and WU, have returned to Taipei for the fan meeting at Zepp New Taipei on October 31. They arrived in Taipei on October 29 alongside fellow actors ALMOND and PROGRESS, and attended a press conference at noon on October 30.

October 30 marked the birthdays of both NANI and ALMOND.In addition to a birthday cake prepared for him at the press conference, SKY NANI shared details about the surprise birthday celebration planned by SKY and the staff. They also revealed how they have been preparing for their upcoming drama!

Q : Q: SKY and NANI visited Chiang Mai to receive red strings of blessing, but SKY’s red string recently broke. According to fans, a red string breaks when a wish comes true. Has SKY’s wish come true?

SKY : Maybe it has already come true, but I’m not entirely sure. The red string didn’t break because it had naturally worn out; it broke because of an accident. So I’m not sure whether the string would naturally break if a wish really came true.

Reporter: If you sincerely believe, your wish will come true!

Q : NANI recently appeared on SKY’s sports variety show. If you had another opportunity to participate, what kind of activity would you like to try?

NANI : I had the opportunity to participate in the filming of Trend to Golden Figure, and it was actually my first time experiencing rock climbing. Honestly, it was really scary! Once I started climbing, I realized that the height was much more frightening than I had imagined.

Being in that environment made me extremely nervous, almost to the point of panic. My heart was racing, my hands were shaking, and I was even afraid to take another step with my feet. It was genuinely terrifying!

However, the experience also taught me that rock climbing is a physically demanding sport with different difficulty levels, such as Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3. It is definitely a challenging activity.

I think it’s a very interesting sport, and it also helped me understand myself better. I learned what I am afraid of and how I react when facing my fears.

If you ask whether I would like to try it again, I actually would! I hope I can practice more, too, because I think rock climbing is a sport that allows you to use your own strength while improving your physical fitness.

Also, if I have the opportunity, I would love to try other sports with SKY. I really want to go snowboarding with him!

Q : SKY has tried so many different sports. If you had another opportunity, what would you like to try next?

SKY :The first season of Trend to Golden Figure has officially concluded, with a total of 12 episodes. I was really happy to meet so many senior and junior artists from GMMTV through the show, and I had a wonderful time.

If I could choose another sport to try, I would like to explore something completely new, preferably an extreme sport. For example, skydiving, bungee jumping, or other activities involving parachutes.

Actually, I’ve been telling everyone since the first season that I really wanted to try these activities. I just couldn’t find anyone to go with me! (Laughs.)

I’ve also discussed it with the producer. If we have the opportunity to make a second season, I hope we can try more unusual and exciting sports, including activities that people may not be very familiar with. We could even invite guests from outside GMMTV to participate, making the show more diverse and entertaining!

Q : After spending so much time together, have you discovered any cute habits or personality traits that are different from the image the other person usually presents? Are there any little secrets that only the two of you know?

SKY : Actually, NANI’s image in the media is almost exactly the same as his real personality in private. I would say they’re about 99.99% identical!

So I don’t think he has any particularly hidden sides that people don’t know about. Just as everyone sees, he actually has a very innocent and pure side. That’s his true personality on the inside.

However, when it comes to his appearance and the impression he gives others, he deliberately presents himself as someone with a stronger presence, making himself look more attractive and a little more dangerous.

NANI : I think SKY shows different sides of himself depending on the situation.

For example, the way SKY behaves when he’s with me is different from how he acts at work. He also behaves differently depending on the people he’s with and the circumstances.

There aren’t really any special secrets. He’s pretty much the same person everyone sees. If you ask me to describe SKY’s personality specifically, it’s actually difficult to explain in just a few words.

I think he simply stays true to himself and expresses different sides of his personality in his own way.

Exactly! It’s really difficult to say definitively that he’s this kind of person or that kind of person because his personality is hard to explain completely in words.

Q : Outside of work, who usually takes care of whom? Could you share a few examples with everyone?

NANI : I think that outside of work, we’re more like people who take care of and support each other. The roles can change depending on the situation.

For example, we understand each other’s personalities very well. We know what SKY is like, and we know what NANI is like, so we naturally support and help each other whenever one of us needs it.

If we encounter problems or difficulties while working together, we naturally lend each other a hand. It just happens without us having to think about it.

As we spend more time together, we’ve gradually developed an understanding of each other. We don’t need to make a conscious effort to do anything because taking care of one another has become second nature.

I think we support each other and make up for each other’s shortcomings, helping us both live more fulfilling lives. I hope we can continue moving toward the future together in this harmonious way.

SKY : I think it depends on how we’re feeling that day because everyone’s energy and condition can vary from day to day. If one of us is feeling better and has more energy, that person will usually take care of the other.

For example, when we’re ordering food, we check in with each other and ask questions like, “Have you tried this before?” or “I’m going to order from this restaurant later. Is there anything you’d like to eat?”

They’re just little things in everyday life. They might not seem particularly important, but we naturally look out for and take care of each other.

Q : You have two children, the mascots SMYLE and NEONA. Do you know who they have a crush on lately?

NANI : Honestly, I really don’t know. I’m not sure who NEONA likes, either.

As far as I know, NEONA usually spends time with SMYLE, right? So, if I had to guess who she’s most interested in at the moment, I’d say SMYLE!

Q : Today is NANI’s birthday, and you posted a photo of a My Melody cake on social media shortly after midnight. Was it prepared by SKY?

SKY : Actually, I had already discussed with the staff how we could prepare a birthday surprise for NANI. Since we were going to work together on his birthday, I thought it would be a good opportunity to surprise him.

In Thailand, there’s a saying that if you have to work on your birthday, it means you’ll have a continuous stream of work opportunities throughout the following year.

However, preparing this surprise was really difficult! We even worked out a plan together with our manager.

Our original plan was to celebrate as soon as the clock struck midnight and his birthday officially began. That day, the two of us went to the gym together, but unexpectedly, NANI just wouldn’t return to his room. The whole plan almost fell apart!

We had ordered a My Melody ice cream cake, which couldn’t be left out for too long because it would melt easily. Everyone was getting anxious.

So we had to find ways to distract him. We asked everyone on the team to take turns sending NANI LINE messages, asking things like, “Hey, NANI, where are you right now? Hurry up and come back to your room!” and “Do you want to come to the staff’s room and play games with us?”

But he still wouldn’t come upstairs! He even told our manager, “Wait a little longer. I’ll come up in half an hour.”

By 11 p.m., and even 11:30 p.m., he still hadn’t come upstairs.

Eventually, I noticed that he was doing his final cool-down exercise on the treadmill. Finally, he finished his workout and was ready to head upstairs!

Throughout the entire time, he had absolutely no idea that we were preparing a surprise. Even before going upstairs, he asked me, “Are we going to the staff’s room later? Do you want to go up together?”

So he really had no idea what we were planning!

Q : NANI, how did you feel about the surprise?

NANI : I was genuinely happy and touched. At the time, I wasn’t thinking about anything in particular, and I never imagined that everyone would prepare a surprise for me. So when it happened, I was really caught off guard!

However, I did find something a little strange while we were exercising.

SKY should have started working out before me, and I had arrived at the gym relatively early, too. But I couldn’t understand why SKY was taking so long to finish his workout.

Normally, walking on the treadmill for a while would be enough, but that day, SKY seemed to start lifting dumbbells again and completed several more sets.

I remember thinking, “Wow, has SKY been working out particularly hard lately?”

I didn’t really suspect anything because I thought I had arrived later than him. In the end, though, I finished my workout before he did, so I went back to my room first.

I never expected that when I returned to my room, SKY and the staff would suddenly appear with a My Melody cake to celebrate my birthday! I thought it was incredibly cute, and I was really touched.

I also received a special gift that SKY had prepared for me. I knew he had put a lot of thought into it, and I noticed many thoughtful little details. That made me feel even more touched and happy.

It was such a wonderful birthday surprise that made me feel incredibly happy. I’m sure this memory will stay in my heart for a long time and become one of those beautiful, unforgettable moments in my life!

Q: Can you tell us what SKY gave you as a birthday present?

NANI : I’ll keep it a secret for now!

Q : Both of you have performed many action and fight scenes in your previous dramas. Did you find filming these scenes exhausting, or did you actually enjoy them? Is there any particular action scene that left a lasting impression on you?

NANI : For me, WU was one of the most action-heavy dramas of my acting career, and the difficulty level was quite high.

We didn’t just have to portray fights between ordinary people. We also had to show what it was like to fight while being possessed by a demon. The way we performed the action scenes was very different in these two situations.

There were also many challenging stunts, such as jumping from high places and performing somersaults. These movements required a great deal of physical ability and pushed me beyond my own physical limits.

That’s why WU has left such a strong impression on me. Every action scene was memorable and difficult to forget.

However, the action scenes in Arrest and Action will have a completely different style. I think audiences haven’t seen SKY and me perform this kind of action before.

SKY : Most of my action scenes were in High School Frenemy. I had fewer action scenes in WU.

However, I think the action scenes in Arrest and Action will take things to another level. We’ll need to perform more challenging movements and stunts.

There’s also another project, HiGH&LOW: BORN TO BE HiGH, which is scheduled to begin filming next year. I think it could be the most intense and action-packed project of our acting careers so far!

Q : SKY had to deliver many Chinese lines in WU. How did you prepare for them?

SKY:I actually studied Chinese when I was younger, but I didn’t learn it in great depth. I mainly learned basic greetings and simple everyday conversations.

For this drama, however, I needed to master more detailed dialogue, and pronunciation was especially important.

Although I can understand some Chinese song lyrics, I can’t read Chinese characters. So, during filming, we had a Chinese language teacher on set to guide me and check whether my pronunciation was correct.

As for my preparation, I mainly relied on memorization. I would first understand the meaning of the lines and then memorize the entire passage.

It was quite difficult because sometimes I only received my Chinese lines one or two days before filming, so I had to memorize them very quickly.

Some sentences even felt like I was reciting a spell because I don’t normally use these words in everyday life! Memorizing the lines and delivering them naturally was definitely a challenge.

Q : NANI, when filming scenes with SKY or acting opposite him, you must have encountered scenes where he had to speak Chinese. Did you face any difficulties during filming?

NANI : When I had to film scenes with SKY that involved performing something like a ritual, the biggest challenge was figuring out how to portray the reactions of someone possessed by a demon.

The demon inside the character creates a sense of restlessness and agitation, as though it’s trying to break free. The character might also experience headaches or other physical discomfort.

So, for me, the difficult part wasn’t really the language. It was figuring out how to portray the character’s physical condition and emotional state.

Q: Your new drama, Arrest and Action, is about to begin filming, and both of you have recently cut your hair short. What other preparations have you been making?

SKY : Arrest and Action is scheduled to begin filming before the end of this year. We’ve already completed the character-development workshops and other related preparations. The next step is action training.

Since this is an action comedy, we also need to train with the senior members of the stunt team.

I think we’ll continue this training until filming officially begins. After going through the action choreography for each scene, I realized that the movements aren’t simple at all. They’re actually quite challenging!

NANI : As SKY mentioned, we’ve already developed a certain understanding of our respective characters at this stage. We’re gradually getting to know their personalities and how they interact with one another.

Next, we’ll mainly focus on workshops and training for the action scenes we’ll need to perform in the drama.

As for what might happen during filming or what adjustments we may need to make once we’re on set, we’ll have to wait and see when the time comes!

This project is also a completely new challenge for us because it’s the first time we’ve acted together in a comedy. Working together and trying a different genre feels very fresh and exciting.

My character is also a new challenge for me, so I think the filming process will be fun and give me many opportunities to learn.

In any case, I hope everyone will look forward to this project and continue supporting us. Thank you!

Q : Without giving away any spoilers, could you share some of the highlights of the drama?

SKY : I think this is an action comedy unlike anything audiences have seen before. The concept is very fresh, and I hope everyone will keep watching every episode because each one has its own unique charm and interesting storyline.

I can also reveal that the drama won’t feature just the two of us. There are many other interesting characters to look forward to!

The characters’ concepts and designs are quite unusual, too. I think the series will challenge the audience’s existing impressions of the actors and show everyone some unexpected sides of us.

I hope you’ll look forward to these surprises!

The fan meeting “2026 GMMTV FANDAY 39 in TAIPEI” featuring SKY and NANI will take place tomorrow, October 31, with the event scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
